
Remember playing red light, green light as a child? Did you know that some foods are considered right light foods? Red light foods are foods that once you start eating them there is no stopping. Learning how to identify these types of foods will help you to be successful in your weight loss journey. Here are some foods I consider red light:
1. Chocolate
2. Swiss Rolls
3. Robbin Eggs (as noted in yesterday's blog)
4. Potato Chips
5. Trader Joe's Sesame Seaweed Rice Balls (I discovered this one yesterday)
6. Cake/Cupcakes - anything that has frosting.
7. Cookies
8. Pizza
9. Bread
10. 100 Calorie packs of hostess cupcakes
Now that you had a chance to think about your red light foods. What do you do about it? I suggest checking out Hungry Girl. She is wonderful about taking high calorie snacks and fast food and making a lighter version of it. I try not to bring any of the red light foods into my house. When it was girl scout cookie time I told my husband that if he bought them into the house, they would be donated to the food pantry.
The key is set yourself up to succeed and not to fail.
